Catrin Pugh is a remarkable young woman who has inspired many with her story of resilience and determination. In 2013, at the age of 19, Pugh was involved in a horrific bus crash while on vacation in the French Alps. She suffered extensive burns on over 96% of her body and was given just a 1% chance of survival.
She almost didn’t have any chance to survive.
Catrin Pugh was born and raised in North Wales, UK, and was a typical teenager with a passion for travel and adventure. In April 2013, she was on a ski trip in the French Alps with a group of friends when the bus they were traveling on crashed and caught fire.
Pugh was trapped in the burning bus and suffered extensive burns to her face, arms, legs, and torso. She was airlifted to a hospital in Grenoble, France, where doctors gave her a 1% chance of survival. Only the soles of her feet and a few patches on her scalp were untouched by the fire.
